Bokeh is a must have in every editor and designer’s arsenal. You see bokeh everywhere including photography, video, film and motion graphics. What is bokeh? Bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. That’s fancy talk for the way a lens reveals out-of-focus points of light. There are many ways to simulate bokeh ‘in the box’ but in my opinion, if you’re going to use bokeh, it must be real. Rampant bokeh effects are shot purposefully, with the intention of using them as overlays or backgrounds. We created the Rampant bokeh effects using our Red Epic camera system and some truly beautiful lenses. Nothing has been computer generated. Just light and glass, no artificial sweeteners.
